Instead of being tied to your laptop to move slides forward, use a remote control to click through your slideshow.
There are many ‘Presenter’s Aids’ in the marketplace that advance slides.
This one from Kensington is my preferred ‘clicker’ for the following reasons:
- It has an ergonomic shape that nestles in the hand
- The weight feels just right
- The not-quite-smooth texture provides a good grip, particularly useful in presenting situations where perspiration may be an issue!
- A simplistic button layout means you don’t have to look at it to choose the right one
- It has a red laser pointer built in
- You can blank the screen to focus audience attention on the presenter
- The wireless USB plug is stored within the unit, which turns off power. No more unexpected flat batteries!
- 20 metre range allows presenter freedom
In summary, an inexpensive presenter’s tool that’s easy to use due to good design.
If you choose to buy one, that’s a great decision. If you buy one using the link above, then MouseProud gets a small fee for introducing you to the presenter. Which I guess is only fair!
